Summer of Heritage 2025

Summer of Heritage 2025
The Summer of Heritage programme of events are a series of Free guided tours run by the Heritage Office of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
They are suitable for schools, students, families, historic groups and individuals interested in local history. The National Maritime Museum is delighted to participate in this again in Summer 2025.
The Museum is housed in Dún Laoghaire’s 180-year-old Mariner’s Church, opposite the DLR Lexicon. Experienced guides can bring you on a voyage of discovery, enthralling you with stories of discovery, heroism, war and disasters at sea. See nature and art inspired by the sea. Hear about innovative Irish inventions, scientists and local mariners. Try sailor’s knots or take a Pirate-selfie!
Tours are between June 30th and September 3rd on Mondays and Wednesdays. The tours take roughly one hour. Tours are at 11:00 am and 12:15 pm each participating day.
