A museum like the National Maritime Museum of Ireland could not have been established and have survived to date without the dedication and manifold support of many individuals. Our members of the National Maritime Institute help through their financial contributions, expert input and by advertising and lobbying for the museum within their circle of friends and acquaintances.
Our volunteers make it all happen on a day-to-day basis, by running the “business” of the museum, organising fundraisers and welcoming our visitors as guides and general museum staff.
Our CE-workers provide invaluable support on the ground by providing all those often invisible support services that a historic building requires to stay clean and welcoming.
And last, but not least: Our visitors provide us with the necessary encouragement to keep doing what we love doing and help through their financial contributions. They make our museum come to life.
The National Maritime Museum is run mostly by volunteers and relies on the financial support of the members of the National Maritime Institute.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your local community, meet new people and learn new things.
Get in touch with the coordinator (see email below) to see that positions are available if you want to join them.
