The Maritime Museum is an ideal location for Irish Civil Ceremonies if you are thinking of a civil marriage or civil partnership Ceremony. It’s a truly unique venue, with a obviously nautical theme and we can cater for up to 100 people during the Ceremony. We’ve been hosting Civil Ceremonies since we reopened and have received nothing but thanks and praise.
Please download our wedding brochure which give you more information on the venue.
We would advise that you are fully versed on the requirements for a Civil Ceremony in Ireland and you can see the latest rules on welfare.ie.

Don’t take our word for it: Here’s a selection of what some happy couples had to say about the venue:
Ruth and I just wanted to say what an amazing time we had last Friday, you and your team were brilliant and the venue looked amazing. You really put us at ease on the day and we just want to thank you for your professionalism and help throughout. Our guests thought the museum looked stunning and we are so happy we chose to get married at the Maritime Museum.

Myself and Gillian had our wedding on 8th March 2017 in what is for sure the most magical setting, all our dreams came true when we discovered it would be possible for us to have our wedding in the Maritime Museum. We want to thank Declan,Tracy and all the staff at the Museum for making our wedding day very special and one of the happiest days of our lives.
It was fate that led us to meeting Tracy and booking our wedding in the Maritime Museum. This venue had a special connection for Gillian as her late father, David Lane, well known surgeon and oboist lived for a short while with the Chamberlains in the rectory of the Mariners Church/now the Maritime Museum. We knew from our first meeting with Declan and Tracy in the Museum that our wedding day would indeed be an amazing occasion. Declan was extremely helpful giving us loads of advice and nothing was a problem.
On the big day, the Museum staff, florist, friends of Gillian’s Dad from the Orchestra, and our spiritualist made our ceremony a unique and truly remarkable day for us and for all our guests. Many of them said afterwards it was the nicest wedding they had ever attended, other guests commented that they felt looking up at the revolving Baily Optic and listening to the beautiful music that they were in heaven. We were blessed that the sun came out and stayed out for us all day.
We would give the Maritime Museum 10 stars as an idyllic, unique and top class wedding location.

We just wanted to thank you all for the most amazing venue. It was just perfect and everyone said it was a wonderful location with brilliant staff. You made us feel totally comfortable and special. Declan and Tracey you could not do enough and Sean was so friendly and accommodating.
We have memories from the Maritime that will last for a life time .The pictures will be spectacular and we already have some which we will treasure. You could not have made us more at home and everything we needed was catered for on the day. You all pushed out the boat ( no pun intended) It is the perfect place to get married and I know that we will be back to renew our vows there in the future.
It was a magical place with so much history and when the sun came out to shine through the bailey light it made our special day even more special. I could not recommend this venue for a wedding higher.

Myself and Conor were married on the 4th May 2016, it was indeed one of the happiest days of our lives. We chose the National Maritime Museum for particular reasons – its uniqueness, its history & its prime location to the sea in Dun Laoghaire. Our relationship started in Dun Laoghaire so it just seemed perfect for it all to be signed sealed & delivered in a place we dearly love.
The National Maritime museum, to me oozes history and character which was crucial to us. I have to say that the team that I dealt with in the Museum were just a pleasure to deal with – nothing was a problem – they suggested all the best suppliers to make the location work for us. Whatever we wanted was delivered with a great big smile! I will never forget walking up the aisle and seeing the staff with big grins on their faces – it was lovely to know that they too felt the our happiness on the day!
The National Maritime gets a 10/10 from us!!

The Maritime Museum was a huge contributor to our wedding day being as special as it was.
The venue is spectacular, a real gem in one of the most beautiful towns in Ireland.
The staff made our day – they were so professional, accommodating and full of enthusiasm for our day.
I couldn’t imagine our blessing going any better and we live this day over in our minds as one of the best days of our lives.
I would recommend this venue for all sorts of events and particularly weddings.

The Maritime Museum was the perfect setting for our wedding ceremony; beautiful, intimate and full of character. It was an absolute pleasure to visit and every member of staff we encountered were exceptionally helpful and passionate about Maritime Museum.
On the big day I was blown away by the atmosphere in museum. Tracy had placed the flowers perfectly for us and it just felt very special and unique. Our guests still talk about the beauty of the place and are very impressed with the light house light.
The ceremony venue really exceeded all of my expectations, a magical place couldn’t recommend highly enough!

The maritime museum was the perfect venue for our ceremony, something different but still very intimate. The acoustics were great and the fact it’s an old church building allowed for beautiful photographs in the doorways, not to say that the internal photos weren’t gorgeous too! Declan and his colleagues couldn’t do enough for us, everyone absolutely loved it and its location was just perfect. We cannot recommend the maritime museum enough.

Within thirty seconds of seeing the Maritime Museum we both knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. It looks stunning, has such character that gives a real sense of occasion worthy of a very special day and is a venue that everyone would remember. It certainly isn’t an anonymous hotel room that might remind people of a work conference or training day.
Declan and all the other staff we dealt with were very helpful and friendly. Declan listened to what we wanted and offered suggestions to make the day special. All our dealings were relaxed and stress free, and there were no last minute panics.
The day itself went like a dream. We had 60 guests and they were all fascinated by, and loved the venue. We had a short drinks reception afterwards, and I would thoroughly recommend this to others. It gave plenty of time for photographs on the altar (which is a stunning and perfect spot for them) and guests were able to mingle or explore the museum in a very relaxed manner.
We loved the venue, it made the day special. All the guests loved it and it is still a talking point with them. If you’re thinking of having your wedding here, don’t hesitate, book it! You will not regret it and will have a venue that people will remember for years.
