Free Guided Tours

Spring into Heritage 2026

The Spring into Heritage programme of events is a series of free guided tours run by the Heritage Office of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

They are suitable for schools, students, families, historic groups and individuals interested in local history. The National Maritime Museum is delighted to participate in this again in Spring 2026. Our tours will begin on Monday 30th March and finish on 29th April.

The Museum is housed in Dún Laoghaire’s 180-year-old Mariner’s Church, opposite the DLR Lexicon. Experienced guides can bring you on a voyage of discovery, enthralling you with stories of discovery, heroism, war, and disasters at sea. See nature and art inspired by the sea. Hear about innovative Irish inventions, scientists and local mariners. Try Sailor’s Knots or take a Pirate-selfie!

There are two tours each Monday and Wednesday only. They should take roughly one hour. The first tour starts at 11:00 am and the last at 12:15 pm.
