Culture Night 2025

The National Maritime Museum is delighted to participate in Culture Night again in 2025.
Culture Night is an annual, all-island public event which takes place each year on the second last Friday of September, Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir celebrates culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.
The Museum will be opening for self-guided tours on Friday 19th @16.00. There will be tours every half hour. Book your time slot below.
2025
Self Guided
Tours will begin every half hour from 16:00 with the last tour starting at 19:00. Tours are limited to 16 people and will take approximately one hour. Booking is essential.

Walking:
You can access the museum either off Georges Street Upper (People’s Park end) or if you are on the sea front you can now access the Museum from the pier side via the steps at the side of the new municipal library (East Pier Side). For the tech-savvy, our GPS location can be found through the GPS button above
Public Transport:
The museum can be easily accessed by public transport. It is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Dun Laoghaire DART station or any of the buses serving Dun Laoghaire (7, 7a, 8, 45a, 46a, 59, 75, and 111). You can use an online travel planner to find the best route for you.
Facilities:
Our museum shop carries a nice selection of maritime related gifts, postcards and much more. We have wheelchair access (except for the gallery)
Parking:
The museum does not have its own parking; however there are a number of car parks nearby (e.g. DLR Lexicon, Pavilion Theatre & Dun Laoghaire Harbour. The tower of the museum (beside the Royal Marine Hotel) is clearly visible from most places in Dun Laoghaire.
