RMS Leinster – 99th Anniversary Tour
Date(s) - Tue 10th October
Begins: 11:30 AM
Location: National Maritime Museum of Ireland
The RMS Leinster was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine UB-123 on 10 October 1918, while bound for Holyhead. She went down just outside Dublin Bay at a point 4 nautical miles (7.4 km) east of the Kish light. Over 500 people perished in the sinking – the greatest single loss of life in the Irish Sea.
To mark her 99th anniversary we will be holding two tours of the museum focusing on the RMS Leinster and the sinking.
Tours will be at 11.30am and 2.30pm and will be on a strictly ‘first come, first served’ basis – there will be no advanced booking and it’s limited to 40 places each tour.
