In practice roofs would have extended from the stone structure to the blast furnace to cver both the pig bed and the blowing machines. Also in practice two sets of bellows would have been used and would have been arranged to work alternatively from cams on the waterwheel shaft. These omissions have been made to simplify the drawing.
