Photographs of life on Dublin’s docks between 1940 and 1990 will be shown at the Sean O’Casey Community Centre on St Mary’s Road, East Wall, Dublin, next Friday, July 6th and Saturday July 7th.

The exhibition opens at 7pm on Friday and, besides the 40 images selected for display, visitors will be able to view a slide show that shows over 1,000 other photographs donated by dockers and their families.

The official launch will be at 7pm. The images will remain on display for the evening, and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

On Saturday, at 2pm, Labour historian Francis Devine will give an illustrated talk on Dublin Dockworkers and their Trade Unions in the Sean O’Casey Community Centre.

On Saturday, at 9.30pm, musician Paul O’Brien (“Songs from the North Lotts” and “Port to Port”) will perform at the Green Room Bar, Lower Sheriff Street.
